Katie Holmes was born in Toledo (Ohio, USA). There he grew up in a very close-knit with each other and well-to-do family. Kate is the youngest of five siblings. She went to a Catholic school for girls, Notre Dame Academy. In high school, she began to be interested in acting, where she performed in school plays. At age 16, she took part in a fashion show in New York. She made a very good impression and was invited to Los Angeles to audition for the film "The Ice Storm". My father was against it, but after persuasion family and friends finally agreed to leave her daughter to California. The beginnings of acting as most were, however, very difficult. Kate coped with the role and committed an error by mistake. However, the film appealed to the audience. Upon completion Katie returned to Ohio to finish high school. Fascinated by acting next season began playing Lola in the local project "Damn Yankees". She prepared her demo tape, which was sent to Warner Bros. It watched a Kevin Williamson (written screenplays, among others, to "Scream" and "Nightmare Last Summer"), which was looking for a new actress for her TV debut "Dawson's Creek". From the beginning, however, was not interested in Kate's commitment to its production, but later changed his mind and the young actress went to the show, where she played the role of Joey. The series, which premiered in January 1998, met with a warm reception both critics and viewers. Soon after, the actress appeared in her second film, "Disturbing Behavior". The film can not obtain the best reviews, but it has achieved commercial success. Larger critical acclaim found another film starring Holmes 'Go' Doug Liman. For the role of sweet and not quite believing in yourself Claire Montgomery received good reviews even from critics who film at all displeased. She was gaining more and more fame as a rising star of Hollywood. In 2000, she starred opposite Michael Douglas and Maguire in "Wonder Boys" and "Touch of destination" Sam Raimis, and in 2002 starred in the acclaimed "Telephone" and "Abandoned".
